Desktop and mobile sync clients for the major self-hosted storage platforms have reached feature parity with commercial offerings, including selective sync, conflict resolution, and end-to-end encryption. When evaluating options, consider your primary use case -- collaborative document editing, large file handling, or API-driven storage -- as different tools excel in different scenarios. Storage capacity scales with your infrastructure budget rather than a vendor's pricing tiers.
